A peak into my process creating the 2023 Seasonal Illustration Calendar

First, I begin with a sketchbook drawing with markers, inspired by photos I’ve taken throughout my day. These are quick and often done on the go.

From these sketches, I make a polished pencil drawing. I then trace this drawing on a light box with gouache. I love finding colors that go just so with the seasons.

I scan in the finished paintings, editing and arranging them in photoshop til the layout is just right. I bring in the months and seasons that I hand lettered in Procreate on my iPad.
